LaFayette woman arrested for DUI after driving erratic on Battlefield Parkway in Catoosa County

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On September 12th, 2022, at 10:27 PM, Cpl Thomas stopped a grey Nissan Altima after observing the driver, later identified as Anastasia Star Glenn, 21, of LaFayette, driving erratic (speeding, following too closely, quickly changing lanes without signaling, and failing to maintain a single lane). According to the report, “CPL Thomas initiated a traffic stop by activating his emergency lights, and the offender pulled into the turn lane to turn into the Walgreens; however, as she came to a stop, she drove up onto the curb then back off it.” CPL Thomas made contact with Anastasia, who advised she was just upset because she had just got kicked out of her mom’s house. As the deputy spoke with Anastasia, he began to smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car and observed an almost empty vodka bottle. Anastasia stated she does not drink and drive, “I swear on my life”. During field sobriety testing, Anastasia showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of .087 on a PBT. CPL Thomas then asked Anastasia if she was sure she hadn’t had anything to drink, and she said, “earlier today, if I’m being completely honest, it was a couple of hours ago.”. Anastasia was placed under arrest for DUI and refused the state test. CPL Thomas located the open vodka bottle and several other 99-proof liqueur small bottles in the vehicle. Anastasia was transported to the Catoosa County Jail and charged with DUI, failure to maintain a single lane, and open container violation. According to the report, “When CPL Thomas brought Anastasia into the jail, Jail Officer Belue asked CPL Thomas what she was brought in for, and he told her DUI. She asked him what she was DUI for, and CPL Thomas replied, “alcohol” to which Anastasia responded, “too much”.
