Landscaping employee finds fatal single-vehicle crash on GA-2 in Walker County Thursday

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at 3:55 PM GSP responded to fatal single vehicle crash. According to the report, “A 2002 Ford Explorer being driven by Glenn Dewayne Womble, 59, of Chickamauga, was “traveling east on State Route 2 negotiating a curve too fast for the conditions and Womble lost control.” The Explorer exited the left side of the roadway while rotating clockwise, striking a road arrow sign with its front. According to the report, “After impact, the Explorer began overturning serval times ejecting Womble who was not wearing a seatbelt. The Explorer continued traveling in an eastern direction while overturning and came to an uncontrolled final rest on its driver’s side facing in a southern direction. The distance from exiting the left side of the roadway to the final rest of the Explorer was approximately 351 feet.” The official date and time of the traffic crash were undetermined due to the driver being reported missing since July 25th, 2022, at approximately 6:00 AM. According to the report, “A witness who is an employee of Yellowstone Landscaping located the terrible traffic crash while mowing the side of the highway.
