Man arrested for DUI after flipping car in crash on Spencer Street in Dalton

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On April 17th, 2022, at 12:39 AM, Officer Black responded to North Spencer Street and East Hawthorne Street regarding a vehicle crash with an overturned vehicle lying on its top. The officer arrived and observed a silver Nissan Sentra in the roadway and also an overturned Mitsubishi Eclipse in the roadway as well. Officer confirmed no one was injured and began his investigation. A separate gears report will be completed for the wreck portion of this incident. Officer Black reported, “During my investigation, [I] spoke to the driver of the overturned vehicle, Adolfo Lial Rosales, 25. Adolfo stated he was traveling south on North Spencer Street when he noticed a vehicle traveling toward him at a fast rate of speed. Adolfo stated this vehicle also did not have its headlights on. Adolfo stated he veered to his right to avoid the oncoming vehicle, which caused him to strike the silver Nissan Sentra that was parked on the side of the road. While speaking to Adolfo, [I] noticed his pupils were constricted. After speaking with other officers on the scene, [I] determined to conduct field sobriety tests. Adolfo did not speak any English.” During the field sobriety tests, Adolfo showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. Officer Black reported that he was able to smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Adolfo was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, charged with DUI alcohol less safe.
