Marietta man caught in undercover child sex sting in Floyd County found with heroin and cocaine

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, on December 16th, 2021, Investigators continued to conduct proactive investigations to find child predators who use social media platforms to find children for sex. The Investigator reported, “[I] was posing as a 14-year-old girl online for the purposes of identifying child predators. While doing so, [I] began receiving messages from Taylor Morgan Buchanan, 29 of Marietta. The messages were often graphic, with Buchanan writing about sex acts. He asked for oral sodomy and also nude photographs and pictures. A time and location were arranged for him to meet who he believed was a child for sex acts.” According to the report, on January 14th, 2022, when Buchanan arrived, he was met by FCPD and was placed under arrest. Buchanan was also found to be in possession of a large amount of heroin, suspected cocaine, smoking devices, and needles. Buchanan was booked into the Floyd County Jail charged with aggravated child molestation, use of a computer to solicit a child to commit a felony, obscene internet contact with a child, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute, sexual exploitation of a child, and possession of drug-related objects.
