According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on April 18th, 2021, at around 1:54 AM, Deputy Figg was working traffic on I-75 southbound at the 338 cut-through. While working traffic, the deputy observed a 2019 GMC Terrain traveling south on I-75 in the center lane at a high rate of speed. The deputy checked the vehicle on LASER going 92 MPH in a posted 70 MPH zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Kasim Henderson, 19, of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Through GCIC, his license showed suspended through Michigan. Kasim was taken into custody and transported to the Whitfield County Jail. Kasim was charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license.
