Missouri man arrested after driving with a suspended license at 100+ mph on I-75 in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on April 4th, 2021, at around 2:50 AM, Deputy Figg was working traffic on I-75 northbound at the 324 Cut through. While working traffic, the deputy observed a 2018 Chrysler 300 traveling north at a high rate of speed. The deputy checked the vehicle on LASER, the vehicle registered 102 MPH in a posted 70 MPH Zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Darron Shabu Cook, 21, of St Louis, Missouri. When the deputy asked for his license, Darron stated he did not have his license with him. While checking Darron through GCIC, his license by name and date of birth, Missouri showed his license was suspended through Missouri. A search of Darron came up with a small amount of suspected Marijuana. Both passengers were given a ride to the Pilot on Carbondale Road so they could make arrangements to return home. Darron was transported to the Whitfield County Jail charged with speeding, driving on a suspended license, and reckless driving.
