Missouri man arrested after high-speed chase with trooper on I-75 in Gordon County

According to the Georgia State Patrol, on Aug. 12th, at approximately 7:20 p.m. 2013 Cadillac XTS being driven by Kevin J. Ozier, 29, of Saint Louis, MO, was traveling north on I-75 in the left lane. Kevin was actively fleeing from a marked Georgia State Patrol unit at a high rate of speed. Kevin recklessly changed lanes right to pass other cars and lost control. The Cadillac rotated counter clockwise before striking the guardrail in the median, with the front and passenger side of the Cadillac. The Cadillac came to an uncontrolled rest facing southeast in the left southbound traffic lane of I-75 South. Kevin, fled the crash scene on foot and was later taken into custody. Kevin was booked into the Gordon County Jail, charged with the following violations:

  1. DUI
  2. Speeding in Excess of Maximum Limits
  3. Fleeing and Attempting to Elude
  4. Reckless Driving
  5. Use of License Plate for Purpose of Concealing of Misrepresenting Identity of Vehicle
  6. Failure to Maintain Lane
  7. Driving While License Suspended or Revoked
  8. Use of Safety Belts in Passenger Vehicles
  9. Hit and Run/Leaving Scene of an Accident
  10. Unlawful to Purchase, Possess, or Have Control of Any Controlled Substance
  11. Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects
  12. No Proof of Insurance/Motor Vehicles
  13. Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer
  14. Expired Tag
  15. Giving False Name, Address, or Birthdate to Officer
