Moped driver injured in crash with motorcycle on Mountain View Road in Chattooga County

According to the Georgia State Patrol, “On September 5, 2021, at 6:22 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol Post 38 Rome was requested to investigate a two vehicle crash on Mountain View Road near GA 1. The preliminary investigation found that 2012 Moped was attempting to exit a parking lot and turn left onto Mountain View Road.  A 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling west on Mountain View Road. The Moped failed to yield to the Kawasaki motorcycle and pulled into its path. Prior to impact, the moped was laid down on its right side and then struck by the Kawasaki motorcycle on its undercarriage with the front tire of the Kawasaki. After impact, the driver of the Kawasaki lost controlled and laid the motorcycle down on its right side. The rider of the Kawasaki motorcycle sustained minor injuries in the crash.” The Moped driver was seriously injured in the crash and transported by Redmond EMS to a local hospital.
