Rape investigation leads to animal cruelty and meth distribution charges in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On July 11th, 2022, at 5:45 PM, Officer Sangphim responded to Redmond Regional Medical Center in reference to a reported rape that had occurred. The victim stated she was at an address on West Little Indian Trail when the rape occurred. She described the rape in graphic detail to the reporting officer, who then called the on-call investigator. The victim advised just prior to the rape occurring, Clinton Daniel West, 46, of Rome, showed her several guns. The victim stated that after being violently raped, Clinton asked her to smoke methamphetamine with him, and she refused. She stated she knew him to keep methamphetamine in his “toy room.” it was advised that Clinton was also aggressive with his dogs. It was advised the dogs were very skinny. The investigator was later able to determine that Clinton was a convicted felon. A search warrant was obtained for the address West Little Indian Trail and for a buccal swab of Clinton West. Officers and investigators executed the search warrants at the residence and located Clinton, Micheal Cody Doi, 39, and Garrett Dwayne Ridge, 35, of Rome. During the search warrant, Michael was discovered to have an active warrant. He was transported to the Floyd County Jail by Sgt Holbrook. During the execution of the search of the residence, FCPD officers and investigators located a large quantity of methamphetamine, digital scales, and plastic bags. They also located a dead lizard and the extreme neglect of a snake and three dogs. The dogs were found to be extremely malnourished and suffering. Clinton was charged with cruelty to animals x2, possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects. Micheal was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.
