Ringgold man arrested for DUI again after driving all over the roadway on in Catoosa County

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on August 5th, 2022, at 9:29 PM, CPL Thomas was on patrol traveling south on Alabama Highway when he saw a Ford Mustang pull out from Mount Pisgah Road southbound. The deputy observed the driver, later identified as Alan Ray Therber, 41, of Ringgold, driving all over the roadway crossing the center line and the fog line multiple times. At one point, Alan crossed the fog line so far that he was actually off the roadway at this point. CPL Thomas initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Alan. When informed why he was stopped, Alan stated, “when I went around the curve, I had pulled my phone up, and I was texting.” According to the report, “CPL Thomas asked Alan where he lived, and he replied with a thick tongue saying “weth wath road” instead of West Watts Road. CPL Thomas could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car and saw Alan’s eyes droopy and slightly watery. CPL Thomas asked Alan if he’d had anything to drink, and he said he had one drink a few hours ago.” During field sobriety testing, Alan showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of .097 on a PBT. The deputy then asked Alan if he was sure he only had one beer. Alan then stated it might have been a couple of beers. Alan was placed under arrest for DUI and refused the state testing of his blood. A deputy searched the vehicle and found in the center console an empty bottle of Jack Daniels. Just behind the back seat in the rear floorboard was an open bottle of Hobble Creek liquor which stated 42 proof on the label. On the center console on the passenger side was moisture as if the liquor had spilled when the offender put it there. Alan was booked into the Catoosa County Jail, charged with DUI, failure to maintain a single lane, and open container violation. According to arrest records, Alan was arrested in March by GSP for DUI in Walker County
