From the Murray County Sheriff Jimmy Davenport, “On Friday January 29, 2021 our K9 Officer was observing traffic in the area of Highway ‪76 and Greeson Bend Rd.‬ While in the area a small passenger car was observed with a non-working driver’s side headlight. A traffic stop was initiated in the area of “Central” when the vehicle in question fled from the Officer south bound on Highway 225. A large brown duffle bag was thrown from the vehicle and later retrieved by officers just moments later in the area of Dogwood Circle. The pursuit continued towards the Spring Place 4-way intersection where the vehicle in question crashed and the driver, Mr. Calvin Toliver of 400 Beech Court Rocky Face, Ga was placed under arrest. Toliver was found to been in possession of 16.9 ounces of Marijuana, 7.1 ounces of Methamphetamine, and $830.00. Toliver was transported to the Murray County Jail and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession W/Intent Marijuana, Abandonment of Controlled Substances, Drug Rel Objects, Felony Fleeing, Criminal Damage to Property, and numerous traffic related offenses.
