According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On June 21st, 2022, 10:45 PM, Officer Wright was dispatched to a crash on Little Texas Valley Road. According to the report, the caller advised the driver appeared highly intoxicated. Officer Wright spoke to the driver, identified as Randall Jonathan Willerson, 47, Rome. According to the report, “Randall stated he was texting and ran off the road, hitting a mailbox.” Officer Wright reported, “[I] noticed Randall had slurred speech. Dispatch informed me Randall’s license was suspended for DUI, and he is supposed to have an Ignition Interlock on his vehicle from the previous DUI convictions.” Randall advised he took the ignition Interlock off. While in the instructions phase of the one-leg stand, Randall would fall over. Randall was placed under arrest for DUI and refused the state test. A witness advised he observed Randall frantically pouring something out of a RaceTrac cup. Randall was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with DUI, distracted driving, too fast for conditions, failure to maintain a single lane, and driving on a suspended license.
