According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, Investigators continued to conduct proactive investigations to find child predators who use social media platforms to find children for sex. The Investigator reported, “[I] was portraying a 14-year-old girl to identify people using popular apps and websites to lure children for sexual purposes. Kevin Ramirez Hernandez, 21 of Rome, engaged in an online conversation of a sexual nature with someone he thought he be a child. According to the report, Hernandez described sexual acts, including kissing, he wished to perform with the child. On April 5th, 2022, Hernandez drove from his home to a location in Floyd County to meet up with the child, and was taken into custody. Hernandez was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with sexual exploitation of a child, obscene internet contact with a child and child molestation.
