Rome man arrested on warrants after being stopped for window tint in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, on July 16th, 2021, at around 5:22 PM, Lt. Hovers conducted a traffic stop on a Gray BMW for a window tint violation which was being driven by Shuntavious Clark, 21, of Rome. Sgt. Wade reported, “[I] was familiar with Shuntavious Clark due to him running from me on foot previously and knew he had active warrants to which [I] advised Lt. Hovers. Upon checking Shuntavious through E-911, Lt. Hovers was advised that he still had outstanding warrants, [I] arrived shortly after Lt. Hovers was notified of the active warrants.” Shuntavious exited the vehicle, where he was placed under arrest. Sgt. Wade went to check on Shuntavious a short time later and observed him sitting with his hands still behind his back but to the right side of his body. The officer asked what he was doing, to which Shuntavious admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in his groin. Shuntavious was removed from the backseat of the patrol vehicle, and he was allowed to remove the suspected marijuana from his person. Shuntavious was transported to the Floyd County Jail, charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, driving with no insurance, marijuana-possess less than 1 oz., marijuana-possess less than 1 oz, and window tint.
