Rome man threatens customer and verbally assaults Dollar General employees during extreme tirade in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On March 28th, 2022, Officer Pelanek was dispatched to Dollar General for a male out, causing issues with the employees and customers. Officer Pelanek reported, When [I] arrived, [I] was told that the vehicle they are in had just left and went behind the store on Burr Dr.” Officers eventually made contact with the male, later identified as Tony Dewayne Thacker, 53, of Rome, who lives on Burr Drive not too far from the store. Witnesses and employees stated an argument between Tony and a customer over cutting in line started inside the store. According to the report, “When this was going on, the store employee had asked Tony to leave the premises. The manager on duty at the time said she heard screaming and yelling going on and walked to see what was going on. She also saw Tony causing issues and asked him to leave. He looked at the employee and stated, “[I] did not do anything you c**t, and then looked at the manager and called her a b***h and a c**t all while in the store. He then looked at the customer and said [I] will come back and kill you. The customer told the officer that he did not know Tony. Tony stated the other customer was the one cursing and yelling at him. He did admit to calling the Employees a c**t but said he never told anyone he would kill them. Tony was then placed under arrest and transported to the Floyd County Jail, charged with disorderly conduct and terroristic threats and acts.
