Rome pair wanted for burglarizing home arrested after traffic stop for brake light in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, on June 2nd, 2021, at around 2:37 PM, Officer Webb was traveling south on SR 1 and observed a red in color Toyota Pickup with a brake light out. Officer Webb conducted a traffic stop in the old Shroeder’s parking lot. The driver was identified as Lukas Franks, 26, of Rome that had active warrants at the time of the stop. Sgt Penny took the passenger identified as Destiny Brooks, 22, of Rome, to his patrol vehicle. Officer Webb verified the felony burglary warrants through dispatch then placed them under arrest. According to the warrants, the pair burglarizing a home on Burnett Ferry Road and was found in possession of items that had been stolen from the burglaries. The warrants went on to state that the suspects proceeded to give away property that had been stolen from the victim. Sgt Whaley arrived on the scene and spoke with the pair. After the interview Officer Webb transported both parties to Floyd County Jail, where they were charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, and theft by receiving stolen property.
