According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On October 15th, 2022, at 9:39 PM, Lt. Cunningham responded to 126 Fernwood Drive in reference to an intoxicated subject standing in the roadway screaming. According to the report, “Dispatch advised the offender (Robert Leon Redmon, 43, of Rossville) may be in a blue ford explorer, and the offender was showing warrants through the city of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Lt. Cunningham turned on Fernwood Drive and pulled into the gas station at Cloud Springs Road.” Lt. Cunningham observed the blue ford explorer pass him on Fernwood Drive and observed the vehicle didn’t have any working tag lights. Lt. Cunningham initiated a traffic stop and attempted to make contact with Robert. Robert exited the vehicle, and Lt. Cunningham made contact with him. Robert attempted to walk away and refused to listen to Lt. Cunningham. Lt. Cunningham grabbed Robert’s arms and walked him back to the front of the vehicle. Lt. Cunningham could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Robert’s breath. Lt. Cunningham asked Robert how much alcohol he had consumed, and he refused to answer the question. While speaking to Robert, Lt. Cunningham observed Robert’s speech to be slurred and his eyes to be watery and bloodshot. Dispatch also advised Robert’s license was suspended. Robert refused to answer any further questions and was placed under arrest for DUI. Robert was transported to the Catoosa County Jail and charged with DUI, taillights, and driving while suspended.
