Rossville woman arrested for DUI after call of suspicious vehicle in Catoosa County

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On Saturday, October 1st, 2022, at 3:00 AM, Deputy Kuzma was dispatched to Noel Lane in reference to a 911 hangup that came in from Hamilton County. According to the report, “Deputy Kuzma arrived on Noel Lane, but dispatch said they could not give a number on Noel Lane. Deputy Kuzma got out and met with two males, stating that a woman and male were in a White car were arguing, and then the female had left the male to walk on foot. Deputy Kuzma checked the area for the car and the male on foot but was not able to locate them.” Shortly after, Deputy Kuzma received a call about a suspicious woman in a White vehicle in a driveway who was intoxicated on Honeyberry Lane off Steele Road. Deputy Kuzma observed the listed vehicle in the driveway running. Deputy Kuzma met with the driver, identified as Destiny Marie Lewis, 25, of Rossville, who was in the driver seat, and the vehicle was in drive. According to the report, “Deputy Kuzma asked Lewis what she was doing, and she stated that she lives here. Deputy Kuzma asked Lewis if she knew where she was, and she stated she was in Dalton. When Deputy Kuzma was asking for Lewis’s drivers license she drove the car forward, almost running over Deputy Kuzma and almost crashing through the caller’s house. Deputy Kuzma was telling Lewis to put the car in park and which she did. Then she tried to turn the car off by pressing the dash inside the vehicle like a push button, but the car was not a push button it had a key inside the ignition. Deputy Kuzma took Lewis’s keys from the vehicle to prevent her from starting the car. While Deputy Kuzma was talking to Lewis, he could smell a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming off Lewis’s breath. Deputy Kuzma also noticed that her eyes were red and watery, as well as Lewis was slurring her speech while she was talking.” Lewis advised the deputy she was coming from her job at Farm To Fork. Lewis refused field sobriety testing advising she was fine. Based on everything that Deputy Kuzma observed, Lewis was placed under arrest for DUI and refused the state test. While transporting Lewis to the Catoosa County Jail, she made several statements that she was very drunk and that she didn’t mean to get drunk. According to the arrest records, Lewis has a very long history of DUI arrests.
