Sandy Springs murder suspect apprehended in Calhoun Sunday night

According to the Sandy Springs Police Department, on Thursday, Feb. 11th, De La Rosa and other individuals allegedly committed an armed home invasion, which resulted in the shooting deaths of two individuals at 789 Hammond Drive in Sandy Springs. A BOLO was placed on Jesus Antonio Alvarez De La Rosa, who was wanted for Felony Murder, 1st degree Home Invasion and other felony charges. According to the Calhoun Police Department: The Calhoun Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit was called late Sunday night, February 14th, to execute a search warrant on a private residence in the city of Calhoun. Officers from the Sandy Springs Police Department in Georgia contacted Calhoun PD. They stated they had evidence indicating a wanted murder suspect had fled the city of Sandy Springs and was hiding out in Calhoun. The murder suspect was successfully apprehended by CPD ESU.

“I would like to thank all the agencies who offered support during this arrest. Gordon County Sheriffs Office, Sandy Springs PD, Georgia State Patrol, Gordon County Fire Dept., Advent EMS and E911,” said Calhoun Police Chief Tony Pyle.
