Sugar Valley man arrested after biting son during violent domestic in Gordon County

According to a Gordon County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021, at approximately 3:54 PM, Deputy Kirby responded to an address on Mountain Loop in reference to a physical domestic dispute in progress. According to the report, “Deputy Kirby met with the complainant who stated that her husband Jeffrey Marshall, 49, of Sugar Valley, had been drinking alcohol. She stated that Mr. Marshall stated that he was going to get in his truck and leave. She stated that her son and another man tried to tell Mr. Marshall that he did not need to leave because he had been drinking alcohol. According to the report, Marshall attempted to get in his truck, and the two men tried to stop him from getting in his vehicle. According to the report, Marshall then violently bit him on the arm. Deputies approached the backyard and could hear the son yelling for help. According to the report, “Deputy Kirby observed Marshall attempting to leave and the two men trying to hold Marshall.” According to the report, The two men stated the same thing as the complainant and advised they tried to tell Marshall that he does not need to leave because he had been drinking alcohol.” The son stated while attempting to keep Marshall from leaving, he bit him on the arm and would not let go. According to the report, That is when he stated that he punched Marshall in the face until he finally let his teeth out of his arm. According to the report, “Deputy Kirby observed redness, torn skin, and bruising to the victim’s arm. The deputy also observed scrapes on the other victim. Photographs were uploaded to the GCSO database. Marshall was transported to the Gordon County Jail, charged with simple assault FVA.
