Summerville man arrested after stealing $28k from families in Floyd County swimming pool installation fraud

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, on May 10th, 2022, at 10:06 AM, Investigator Lopez spoke with a victim who stated he payed John Anthony Tucker, 48, of Summerville, $18000.00 to build a swimming pool for him. According to the report, “He advised he wrote Tucker a check for $18000.00 on September 19, 2021, and Tucker never returned to start the job. He advised the check was cashed immediately, and he has not been able to contact Tucker. He also has a copy of the contract between himself and Tucker.” Records also show that between April 14, 2021 to May 10, 2022 Tucker took $10,000 from a separate victim to build a swimming pool.¬†On May 26th, 2022, Tucker was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with two counts felony theft by deception and two counts conversion of payments for real property investments.
