Summerville man arrested for DUI after failing to maintain lane in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, on June 3rd, 2021, at around 7:14 PM, Officer Webb and Sgt. Wade responded to assist Floyd County Sheriff Deputy Bohannon on a traffic stop at SR 1 and Booze Mtn Road. Deputy Bohannon stopped the vehicle for failing to maintain its lane. The deputy advised that he could smell alcohol coming from the driver identified as Robert Clayton Hyde 42 of Summerville. Sgt Wade reported, “After arriving [I] spoke with Robert Hyde who was the driver of the vehicle, while speaking with Robert [I] began to smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. [I] asked Robert if he had consumed any alcohol, to which he stated that he had one shot of Crown.” According to the report, Robert showed several clues of impairment during the test. Robert was then placed under arrest for DUI and read implied consent to which he agreed. Robert was transported to Floyd County Jail, charged with DUI-driving under the influence of alcohol, and failure to maintain lane.
