Summerville man killed after being struck by vehicle Monday night on Hwy 27 in Chattooga County

According to the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office, “These results are preliminary as this crash is still under investigation. On July 18, at 9:50 p.m., Troopers from GSP Post 38 Rome responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on GA 1 in Chattooga County. The investigation determined that Mr. Jeremy Paul Crump, 45, of Summerville, was walking on the inside northbound lane of GA 1, south of Greeson Street.  A 2007 GMC Yukon was traveling north on GA-1 in the inside northbound lane and struck Mr. Crump, who succumbed to injuries he sustained in the crash. Next of kin has been notified. At this time, no charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the Yukon.”
