Summerville teen injured in single-vehicle crash Friday in Chattooga County

According to the Georgia State Patrol: “On Feb. 12, at approximately 5:10 p.m., Vehicle 1 (1995 Honda Civic) was traveling west on Rocky Hollow Road with the driver (Aaron Simpson) attempting to negotiate a curve. Simpson failed to maintain his lane and exited the south shoulder of the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the front of the Honda Civic made contact with an embankment and a tree. After impact, the Honda Civic rotated counter clockwise and re-entered the roadway, coming to a final uncontrolled rest facing south. Simpson stated that as he was traveling on the roadway he struck a large rock that was in his lane of travel. Simpson stated that he felt his vehicle shake from that impact and he jerked the wheel, losing control and crashing. Driver 1 – Aaron Simpson, age 18 from Summerville, was injured and transported to Redmond Hospital. The report is not complete.”
