Summerville woman arrested after shoplifting over $100 in merchandise from Walmart in Trion

According to a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, on November 28th, 2021, at approximately 3:53 PM, Deputy Villagomez was dispatched to the Walmart located at 13427 Highway 27 in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival the deputy met with complainant, the asset protection associate and he stated that Regina Marie Parsons, 51, of Summerville, did not scan a total of eleven, consumable items in her shopping cart worth $138 total in an attempt to shoplift. The associate showed the footage of the incident and the deputy did in fact observe Ms. Parsons not scan eleven items in her shopping cart at the self check out and attempted to leave the premises without paying for such items.┬áThe associate gave the deputy the copy of her receipt along with footage of the incident and banned Ms. Parsons from all Walmart stores. Parsons was transported her to the Chattooga County Jail, charged her with theft by shoplifting.
