Teens arrested after Calhoun man found shot in Rocky Face Thursday night

UPDATE: Suspect wanted for the shooting of a Calhoun man on December 30th, 2020, in Whitfield County has been arrested. Blaze Nicholas Tate, 17, of, Chatsworth, was arrested in Bartow County on January 5th, 2021. Tate was transported from the Bartow County Jail and booked into the Whitfield County Jail Tuesday charged by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault (gun) and possession of a firearm/knife during commission of a felony.

PREVIOUS: According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on December 30th, 2020, at around 11:17 PM, Deputy Townsend and Sgt. Pierce responded to the area of 452 Battleline Drive in Rocky Face in reference to a check welfare call. According to the report, once deputies arrived, they drove towards the dead-end of Amber Cliff Road in reference to hearing the subject yell from that direction. Deputies and fire started toward that direction. Deputies discovered a male subject identified as Jackson Fowler, 20, of Calhoun, laying on the left edge of the roadway bloody and advising that he had been shot. A deputy asked where the firearm was, and he advised the person who shot him was already gone. Fire arrived on the scene and began rendering aid to the victim. Fowler advised that a subject by the name of Blaze Tate, approximately 18 years of age, was the offender who shot him. Fowler advised that the male was driving a silver Toyota or Honda passenger car. Deputies notified the on-call detectives of the situation. The scene was secured, and EMS arrived and transported the victim. According to the report, once Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrived on the scene, the investigation was turned over to them for further. According to Whitfield County arrest reports, Abigail Shipman, 19, of Cohutta, was arrested on Thursday in connection to the case and charged by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony aggravated assault (gun).
