Tennessee homicide suspect caught in Catoosa County

On May 20th, 2021, Lebanon Police officers responded to the entrance of Rollingwood Apartments in reference to a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim, identified as Ellis Sanders (27, Mt Juliet), lying in a vehicle at the entrance to the complex with a fatal gunshot wound. Through diligent efforts by the responding officers and detectives, Johnathan Van Duncan (37, Nashville), was developed as a suspect. On June 4th, 2021 Detective Jeremy Drennon of the Lebanon Police Department presented the case to a special called Grand Jury that resulted in an indictment for Johnathan Van Duncan for 1st Degree Homicide. On Friday June 11th, 2021 members of the US Marshals Service and Georgia State Patrol Troopers located Duncan in Catoosa County, Georgia and took him into custody.
