According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, Investigators continued to conduct proactive investigations to find child predators who use social media platforms to find children for sex. The Investigator reported, “[I] was portraying a 14-year-old girl to identify people using popular apps and websites to lure children for sexual purposes. Juan Jimenez Lopez, 23, Cleveland, Tennessee, sent photos of his penis to someone he thought to be a child. The report said that Lopez also engaged in graphic conversations of a sexual nature with the child. He additionally asked the child to send him nude photos. On February 6th, 2022, he was taken into custody at a location in which he was supposed to have met up with the child to engage in sexual relations. Lopez was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with aggravated child molestation, electronically furnishing obscene materials to a child, use of a computer service to solicit a child to commit a felony, obscene internet contact with a child, and sexual exploitation of a child.
