Tennessee man arrested after driving with a suspended license at 100+ mph on I-75 in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on May 16th, 2021, at around 1:48 AM, Deputy Figg was working traffic on I-75 southbound at the 338 cut-through. While working traffic, the deputy observed a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta traveling south on I-75 in the right lane at what appeared a high rate of speed. According to the report, “Deputy Figg checked the vehicle on LASER, the vehicle registered 106 MPH in a posted 70 MPH Zone.” The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Hugo M. Jimenez-Aguilar, 38, of Franklin, Tennessee. Hugo stated he did not have a license. Hugo was taken into custody and was confirmed to have a suspended license through Georgia. Hugo was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, charged with speeding, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license.
