Tennessee woman arrested for DUI after 911 call from concerned motorist on I-75 in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on June 11th, 2021, around 12:02 AM, a BOLO for a Dodge avenger gray in color came out through dispatch, stating that the driver was failing to maintain their lane and possibly driving under the influences on Interstate 75 south around the 341. According to the report, “Deputy Mdeiway located the vehicle on I-75 south at the 336 and followed the vehicle to confirm the lane violations. Deputy Mdeiway observed the vehicle weaving across lane lines, straddling a lane line, varying speed, slow response to signal, appearing to be impaired.” The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Jodie Boswell, 24, of Milan, Tennessee. According to the report, “While speaking to her, it was observed that a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was coming from her. Deputy Mdeiway observed that Ms. Jodie Boswell had bloodshot eyes, watery eyes, and slurred speech. When asked by Deputy Mdeiway, Jodie Boswell admitted to drinking one Mike’s Harder pineapple mandarin (ALC/VOL 8% and 23.5 FL OZ). Deputy Mdeiway asked Ms. Jodie Boswell if she would do the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, and she stated yes.” During standardized field sobriety tests, Boswell showed several clues of impairment. Deputy Mdeiway placed Boswell under arrest for DUI-driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the report, “Deputy Mdeiway located the empty container of the Mike’s Harder in the front passenger seat floorboard, along with a six-pack of unopened Smirnoff’s. Boswell agreed to the state’s implied consent. According to the report, “Ms. Jodie Boswell test results indicated she was significantly higher than the legal limit of 0.08 Grams. The test showed Ms. Jodie Boswell’s BAC of 0.254.” Boswell was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane.
