Texas motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle crash Saturday in Murray County

According to the Georgia State Patrol, “These are the preliminary investigative findings, and this crash is still under investigation. On May 7, 2022, at 5:52 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol Post 43 Calhoun was requested to investigate a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of GA 136 and Old Highway 411. A silver 2018 Dodge Journey was traveling south on Old Highway 411 and stopped at the posted stop sign at the intersection of GA 136. A gray 2017 Kawasaki sport bike was traveling east on GA 136. The Dodge Journey failed to yield to the Kawasaki, and attempted to cross GA 136, crossing into the path of the motorcycle. The Kawasaki struck the right side of the Dodge. The motorcycle driver, Mr. Michael John Maldonado, a 60-year-old, from Buda, Texas suffered fatal injuries. The occupants of the Dodge suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting with this crash investigation.”
