Three injured in two-vehicle crash at GA-2 and GA-193 red light in Walker County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, On September 14th, 2022, at 7:33 PM, A 2011 Kia Sorento being driven by Taylor Jones, 29, of Chickamauga, was traveling southbound on SR #193 and in the left turn lane to turn onto SR #2. A 2022 Ford Mustang, being driven by Michael Goodwin, 20, of Rossville, was traveling northbound on SR #193. According to the crash report, “Jones advised that she had a yellow flashing arrow on the traffic signal and that she did not see the Ford Mustang. Goodwin advised that he had a green traffic signal and that the Kia turned in front of him, and he was unable to avoid the crash.” the Kia turned left in front of Ford. The Ford Mustang struck the Kia on the right front of the Ford Mustang. The Kia rotated counterclockwise and came to rest back in the left turn lane facing southbound. The Ford rotated counterclockwise and left the roadway and came to rest on the northeast shoulder of SR #2 and SR #193 facing westbound.” Goodwin and passenger Kristen Crawford, 18, of Tennessee, were both injured in the crash and transported to the CHI Memorial of Georgia. Jones was also injured in the crash but was not transported by EMS. According to the crash report, Jones was cited by GSP for failure to yield while turning left and no insurance.
