Trion motorcyclist seriously injured by distracted driver in Summerville crash last week

According to a Summerville Police Department crash report, on Friday evening about 6:45 PM, Gregory L. Chandler, 57, of Trion, was driving south on his black 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle when Stefan Bryant, of Summerville, pulled out in front of him in a gray 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. “Upon arrival, I observed a motorcycle and its operator laying on the roadway on Rome Boulevard. I observed a gray Dodge Ram pickup truck with damage to the passenger side parked on Bellah Avenue,” Summerville Police Officer Steve Bates reported. “Mr. Bryant advised that he was traveling North on Rome Boulevard and making a left turn onto Bellah Avenue. He advised that while turning, his son yelled for him and he looked into the back seat. He advised that when he spotted (the motorcycle) it was too late,” Officer Bates reported. Chandler was thrown from his motorcycle and seriously injured. Lifeforce helicopter was called to Redmond EMS station 12 and transported him to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
