Trion woman arrested for DUI after crashing into truck while going around crash scene in Walker County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on September 12th, 2022, at 3:18 PM, A prior four-vehicle crash was being investigated, on State Route 1, at the intersection of Kay Conley Road. According to the crash report, “This traffic crash had all lanes of State Route 1 (Hwy 27) shut down, and the Walker County Sheriffs Office was directing traffic around the crash. A 2016 Kia Forte, being driven by Anna Kay Taylor, 66, of Trion, was stopped on Kay Conley Road, facing west, in the right turn lane. A 2018 Ford F-150, being driven by Gregory Spradlin, 58, of Chickamauga, was stopped on Kay Conley Road facing west, in the straight or left turn lane.” Walker County Deputy Fouts instructed the Kia to make a U-turn after she attempted to drive northbound through the crash scene. According to the crash report, “Taylor made a U-turn and began traveling east on Kay Conley Road. Taylor crossed the center line and struck the F-150 head-on in the front, with its front.” Taylor was found to be DUI after failing field sobriety tests and showing a BAC of .16 on a PBT. Taylor was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Walker County Jail. Taylor was charged with seat belt violation (adults), failure to exercise due care when using cell phone/radio, driving on the wrong side of the road, open container violation, and DUI-driving under the influence of alcohol.
