According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Friday, October 15th, 2021, at around 1:10 PM, a 2004 GMC Envoy being driven by Seth Slater, 20, of Lyerly was traveling east on Rocky Hollow Road. According to the investigating Trooper Sanders, “Slater was traveling too fast for conditions and failed to maintain his lane causing the vehicle to travel off the south shoulder and into the south ditch. After leaving the roadway, Slater overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel back onto the roadway and into the westbound lane while overturning. The GMC rolled onto the passenger side and onto its top while impacting with the north ditch and a utility pole. The GMC came to final rest on its top in the westbound lane of Rock Hollow Road.” A 2002 Chevy Tahoe that was parked on the private property of 182 Rocky Hollow Road was damaged when the GMC crashed. Both Slater and a 15-year-old passenger were injured in the crash. According to the crash report, Slater was issued a citation for no seatbelt, no insurance, too fast for conditions, and failure to maintain lane.
