Unlicensed and uninsured Chattanooga man charged with DUI after crashing into tree in Walker County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on November 16th, 2021, at around 5:10 PM, a 1997 GMC Sierra being driven by Hulen Murphy, 75, of Chattanooga, was traveling south on Summitt Street negotiating a curve in Walker County. According to the crash report, “Murphy was driving under the influence and failure to maintain his lane of travel. The GMC entered the northbound lane of travel. The GMC then exited the east shoulder of Summitt Street and struck the ditch and tree with its front. Murphy was injured in the crash and taken to Parkridge Main by CHI EMS. Murphy was charged with DUI, driving while license suspended, no insurance, and failure to maintain a single lane.
