Unlicensed Chattanooga man charged with DUI after leaving party in Dalton

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, on Sunday, October 10th, 2021, at around 3:55 AM, Officer Marcus was traveling west on Waugh Street, approaching the intersection with Shugart Road. The officer observed a silver passenger car with a Tennessee tag traveling in a suspicious manner. The driver, later identified as Audron Jhirmont Hill, 34, of Chattanooga, weaved inside his lane and failed to maintain his lane several times. Officer Marcus reported, “[I] decided to initiate a traffic stop to investigate the possibility of an impaired driver. [I] made contact with Audron and could detect a strong smell of alcohol. At this time, Audron stated that he had just left a party on East Morris Street.” According to the report, officers had shut down an alcohol-fueled party on East Morris Street about 10 minutes prior. Partygoers quickly fled the scene before officers could make contact with them. Officer Parson arrived on the scene and assisted with field sobriety testing. Audron showed several signs of impairment and showed a BAC of 0.102. According to the report, An open container of tequila was discovered in Audron’s car. The passenger Cheyanne Penn waited in the Walmart Parking lot for a taxi. Audron was transported to Whitfield County Jail, charged with DUI, open container, driving unlicensed, and weaving over the roadway.
