Unlicensed Chattanooga woman found DUI after driving all over Highway 27 in Walker County

According to a Walker County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on May 2nd, 2021, at approximately 3:29 AM, Sgt. Agredano was stationary at the Walker County A/B line in Chickamauga. The deputy observed a 2001 Honda traveling south on Highway 27 with no headlights, and the driver later identified as Chana Euvonne Dunson, 22, of Chattanooga, TN, leaning forward, not wearing a seat belt. Sgt. Agredano reported, “[I] followed the suspect vehicle and [I] noticed she was failing to maintain lane. The suspect vehicle crossed the turning lane several times, and then straddled the divider line and moved into the right lane crossing over the fog line four times when the vehicle almost hit the curb [I] initiated a traffic stop just past Shaw at the bridge.” The deputy made contact with Chana, who stated, “Yeah, I turned my lights on.” When asked why she was failing to maintain a lane and she did not answer the deputy. The deputy could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage and an odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Chana stated she did not have her ID and advised she had consumed alcoholic beverages. During the field sobriety tests, Chana showed several clues of impairment. An Alco-sensor showed Chana had a positive BAC at 0.079%. Chana stated she did not have insurance on her vehicle. Walker 911 advised the deputy that Chana was also unlicensed. Chana was placed under arrest for DUI alcohol/drugs. Chana agreed to Georgia’s Implied Consent on the scene and submitted to a blood draw. Chana was transported to the Walker County Jail, where she was charged with DUI-driving under the influence of multiple substances, 4th offense driving while unlicensed (felony), improper lane change/failure to maintain lane, lighted headlights/other lights required, expired license plate, and no insurance.
