According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On March 15th, 2022, at 12:20 PM, Officer McMeekin was patrolling the area of Ga 20 East when he observed a white Chevrolet Malibu with dark windows suspected in violation of state law. Officer McMeekin reported, “[I] then activated my emergency blue lights and siren in order to stop the vehicle. Once the vehicle stopped, [I] approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and made contact with Edin Franz Vincent Goux, 28, who was unable to speak English. His wife was in the car and translated for him. [I] advised them of the dark windows and proceeded to test the window with my tint meter, which yielded a result of 4%(Violating state law which stated 32% + or – 3%). [I] then advised them Edin is in violation of state law and asked to see his license.” Edin could only produce a foreign ID card. Edin then advised he didn’t have a valid license. Edin was placed under arrest and transported to the Floyd County Jail, charged with window tint violation and driving without a valid license.
