Unlicensed man arrested after crash in Whitfield County seriously injuries passenger

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, on March 25th, 2021, at approximately 11:46 AM, Trooper Whitfield was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Mt. Pleasant Road in Whitfield County. TFC Whitfield arrived and spoke to the driver identified by his Guatemalan Consular card as Rolando Reynoso-Ambrocio, 39, Chattanooga. The front passenger and vehicle owner was identified by the name she gave as Senaida Mendez, 37. The victim was identified as Adulfo Chun Gabriel, 27. Chun-Gabriel sustained serious injuries in the crash. This was verified by ER medical staff at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton. The trooper checked all occupants through GCIC/NCIC. They returned not listed and undocumented and were also all unlicensed, including Mendez, the vehicle owner. The trooper asked the driver Ambrocio what happened. He stated that he came around the corner and crashed. He also stated that he did not know occupant Chun-Gabriel though Chun-Gabriel stated they were family and all lived at the same address. Trooper Whitfield reported, “The crash investigation showed that Mr. Ambrocio was driving too fast for conditions and recklessly on the wet surface. The rain was heavy, and there was low visibility. Mr. Ambrocio failed to maintain lane and drove on the wrong side of the road prior to impact.” Ambrocio was transported to the Whitfield County Jail charged by the Georgia State Patrol with serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions, driving without a valid license, and two counts of failure to maintain lane. According to online arrest records, Rolando Reynoso-Ambrocio has several driving-related arrests, including one in Hamilton County on August 23rd, 2020, for DUI and driving with no license.
