Unlicensed man arrested after speeding and driving reckless in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident, on September 5th, 2022, at 12:04 PM, Officer Jackson was parked in a stationary position on Maple Road operating stationary Radar when he observed a 2008 Mazda 3 passing by Spruce Street at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. Officer Jackson checked the vehicle at 72mph in a 40mph speed zone. Officer Jackson initiated a traffic stop on the driver, later identified as Marlon Gutierres, 30, Lindale, who stopped on Linden Street just off Maple Road. While speaking with Gutierres the officer reported he wasn’t speaking very clearly and wasn’t making any sense of what he was saying. Qutierres produced an identification card from Guatemala and couldn’t produce a valid driver’s license through Georgia. Gutierres was placed under arrest and booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with driving while unlicensed, speeding, and reckless driving.
