Unlicensed man arrested for DUI after 911 call from concerned citizen in Summerville

According to a Summerville Police Department incident report, On July 26th, 2022, around 7:15 p.m., a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) from concerned citizen who called 911 was placed on a white Chevrolet truck with a possibly intoxicated driver leaving the Willow Tree Grill. Officer Matthew Wilson located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop alongside a Chattooga County Sheriffs Office deputy on Union Street near Georgia Avenue. Officer Wilson had prior knowledge that the driver, Tony Grant Colbert, 52, of Summerville, had a suspended license and asked him to step out of the vehicle. Colbert allegedly had an alcoholic smell coming from his breath and was asked if he had been drinking. Colbert told police he had consumed four beers. After showing signs of impairment during a field sobriety test, Colbert was placed into custody. Colbert was booked into the Chattooga County Jail, charged with DUI, driving without a valid license, failure to maintain a single lane, and seatbelt violation.
