Unlicensed Marietta man arrested in undercover child sex sting in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, Investigators continued to conduct proactive investigations to find child predators who use social media platforms to find children for sex. The Investigator reported, “[I] was portraying a 14-year-old girl to identify people using popular apps and websites to lure children for sexual purposes. Morgan Rodriguez-Cruz, 33, of Marietta, engaged in online conversations of a sexual nature with someone he thought to be a child. According to the report, on February 6th, 2022, Cruz then traveled to Floyd County to meet up with the child to have sexual relations. Cruz was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with child molestation, use of a computer to seduce a child to commit a felony, obscene internet contact with a child, and driving without a license.
