Walmart associate charged after being caught shoplifting from store by loss prevention

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on March 8th, 2021, at approximately 4:06 PM, A deputy was dispatched to 2545 East Walnut Avenue in reference to a shoplifter. The deputy spoke with the loss prevention associate. The associate stated that she observed an employee, Lynsey Ridley, 26, of Chatsworth, go back to her locker and take a long time at her locker after each of her deliveries. The loss prevention associate stated that Ridley’s job is OGP (online grocery pickup) associate, which means that she goes around and picks the merchandise that is purchased online or on the app to be picked up on the curbside by customers. The loss prevention associate stated that she observed on the cameras that Ridley was taking merchandise that was not paid for and putting it in her locker. The loss prevention associate stated that Ridley then took a bag out of her locker and was going out the front door when she and other loss prevention officers confronted her. The loss prevention associate stated Ridley had unpaid merchandise in the bag and admitted to taking the merchandise after her trips and putting them in her locker without paying for them. The total cost of the merchandise was $118.16. Ridley was charged with theft by shoplifting and released to herself, where she was escorted out of the store by the manager.
