Wanted man arrested for theft by deception after shoplifting from Walmart in Dalton

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on June 21st, 2020, at approximately 6:44 PM, a deputy was dispatched to the Walmart at 2545 East Walnut Avenue in reference to a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, The deputy made contact with the Loss Prevention Associate in the store, who then led him to the alleged offender, Christopher Allen Beck, 43 of Duluth. The deputy escorted Beck to the loss prevention office where the associate showed the deputy the video footage of Beck entering the store without any merchandise, selecting items off of the shelf, and going to the service desk where he fraudulently returned the items. The items included three studio headsets valued at $19.88 each and a JBuds Bluetooth set of earbuds valued at $69.00. The Loss Prevention Associate provided the deputy with a total value of $128.64 for the fraudulently returned items. The deputy placed Beck under arrest and transported him the Whitfield County Jail charged with theft by deception. An officer also met with Beck in booking and served him with a bench warrant through DPD.
