According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s office report, on December 17th, 2020 at approximately 2:20 PM, A deputy responded to 2535 East Walnut Avenue at the Shoe Show business in reference to shoplifting. The deputy spoke with the store representative. She provided stated that at around 1:55 PM, a man and woman entered the store and began looking around. Eventually the man went outside to smoke a cigarette. While the man was outside the employee noticed the woman take a face mask worth $5.99 dollars from a shelf and place it into her toboggan. When the woman attempted to check out her other items the employee asked her to remove the merchandise from the hat. The woman complied and then apologized offering to pay for it. The employee recovered the mask before the subjects fled the area in a yellow Chevrolet pickup truck with license plate RRL6112.
