Woman caught breaking into vehicle in Catoosa County after stealing equipment from the East Ridge Fire Department

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on March 7th, 2022, 7:54 AM, Catoosa County deputies responded to the area of North Avenue in reference to a female later identified as Kendall Ramie Dupree, 34, of Chattanooga, that had just committed an entering auto. According to the report, “The female was supposed to be on foot. She was described as wearing an East Ridge Fire Department jacket and a black dress. Deputy Viar located Dupree with these items of clothing on walking down North Avenue in Catoosa County.” Deputy Jordan arrived on the scene and observed Dupree was still wearing the East Ridge Fire Department jacket. The jacket had other pieces of equipment on it as well as ID tags. When asked about the jacket that had East Ridge Fire on it, she stated she had gotten it from them. Catoosa 911 checked her through NCIC, and it showed that she had an active felony warrant for Catoosa County. Deputy Jordan detained Dupree at that time. According to the report, “It was also at this time that Catoosa 911 advised that East Ridge Fire Department, Engine 1 had called and reported the items that Dupree was wearing as stolen.” The victim showed Deputy Jordan the vehicle that Dupree had been seen entering. They stated that they had come out of their shop at 215 North Avenue and Dupree was in the unlocked vehicle ransacking through the vehicle. According to the report, “When confronted, she stated she had just gotten into the vehicle to rest her feet but would need to go into their building to conduct official Fire Fighter business. Deputy Jordan then met back with East Ridge Fire Chief in reference to the stolen jacket. When he arrived, he confirmed that the jacket and gear on it did belong to his department. He then identified a pair of black boots that the offender was wearing also belonged to the department. All items that were identified belonging to the fire department were returned to the chief. East Ridge Police Department will be doing the report in reference to the stolen government property.” Dupree was transported to the Catoosa County Jail, charged with felony probation violation, entering an automobile, theft by receiving stolen property.
