According to the Georgia State Patrol, on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at around 8:20 PM, the Georgia State Patrol Post 41 LaFayette was requested to investigate a two-vehicle crash on Mission Ridge Road at North Long Hollow Road in Walker County. Upon arrival, the preliminary investigation determined that a Chrysler Town and Country Van was stopped at the stop sign on North Long Hollow Road and Mission Ridge Road. The Chrysler, driven by 77-year-old Ruby Tinker, made a left turn onto Mission Ridge Road in front of a Nissan Rogue. The Nissan was traveling north on Mission Ridge Road. The Nissan struck the Chrysler on the driver’s side door with the front of the Nissan. Ms. Tinker suffered fatal injuries. The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting in the crash investigation. Mission Ridge was shut down for several hours.
